Official Visits
Protocol and Events is responsible for planning and conducting,
or overseeing, the numerous official visits to the Province. When
appropriate, the Branch will arrange meetings with the Lieutenant-Governor,
the Premier, the Speaker, Cabinet Ministers and others.
Official visitors
generally fall into the following logical groupings:
- The Sovereign
(Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II), the Governor General and Members
of the Royal Family
- Heads of
State or Government - Kings, Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers
- Foreign Ministers,
Governors and Premiers
- Heads of
Diplomatic Missions (Ambassadors and High Commissioners) in Ottawa
and Heads of Consular Posts in Vancouver
- Trade Missions,
Parliamentary Delegations and Government Study Groups
- Other Distinguished
